In the ever-evolving world of technology, smart home gadgets are becoming increasingly popular for their convenience and efficiency. If you're looking to make your home smarter in 2025, look no further than our ultimate guide to the latest and best smart home devices.

A modern home enabled with smart home technology
  1. Samsung's Vision AI System

Artificial intelligence takes center stage with Samsung’s Vision AI, announced at CES 2025. Samsung describes this innovation as a way to create "adaptive, intelligent companions to simplify and enrich daily living." While its initial integration is focused on the company’s TV sets, Vision AI is also finding a place in more practical smart home devices.

One standout application is the Samsung Bespoke Smart Fridge, an upgraded version of last year’s model. Thanks to Vision AI, this refrigerator can now scan its own contents, analyze what’s inside, and track items you’re running low on. To make things even more convenient, Samsung has partnered with Instacart, allowing the fridge to prompt you to order groceries directly when it detects shortages. All this is managed through a sleek 9-inch touchscreen display on the fridge door.

Vision AI's capabilities extend to recognizing up to 37 different types of food, including fresh fruits and vegetables. With this technology in your kitchen, you’ll have no excuse for skipping your daily dose of healthy produce!

  2. Lockly Styler Smart Lock

The Lockly Styler Smart Lock is a standout innovation in smart home technology and has earned the title of Best Smart Home Device in this year's CES. While we’re eager to test it ourselves to determine if it deserves a spot among the best smart locks, it certainly makes an impression with its sleek, modern design.

This advanced smart lock offers multiple unlocking methods, combining convenience and security. It features a 2K security camera at the top, a doorbell button, a keypad with numbers that randomly change positions to prevent tampering, an RFID reader, and a fingerprint reader seamlessly integrated into the handle—positioned perfectly for your index finger when gripping it. For traditionalists, there’s also a standard key lock included.

The main drawback? Its price. At $699, it’s a significant investment. However, as the name suggests, the Lockly Styler is a stunning device. Its elongated bar form factor complements contemporary front doors beautifully, making it a stylish addition to any home.

  3. Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus

The Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus is a versatile 6.9-inch touchscreen controller designed to replace traditional light switches, offering users an intuitive interface to manage their smart home systems, including Matter-compatible devices.

This device features a customizable display that allows control over various smart home elements such as lights, thermostats, and blinds, eliminating the need for a smartphone or voice commands. It also functions as a Zigbee hub, facilitating the integration of Aqara's cameras and doorbells into your smart home ecosystem.

The Panel Hub S1 Plus supports dual-band Wi-Fi and is compatible with platforms like Apple HomeKit, enhancing its interoperability with a wide range of smart devices. Its sleek design and elongated bar form factor make it a stylish addition to modern interiors.

  4. SwitchBot K20+ Pro

Amid the sea of robot vacuums showcased at CES, the SwitchBot K20+ Pro stands out for its unique versatility in the smart home landscape. What makes it so intriguing? This robot vacuum isn’t just for cleaning—it can dock with a range of accessories, including a fan, an air purifier, a security camera, and even an iPad holder. Its adaptability positions it as a true multi-functional smart home gadget. Imagine using it as a standard vacuum during the day, then attaching a security camera to transform it into a patrolling sentry while you’re away on vacation. The possibilities are further expanded by SwitchBot’s FusionPlatform, which the company is opening to third-party developers. This approach hints at the potential for a growing ecosystem of attachments and automations, making the K20+ Pro even more capable over time. Pricing details for the vacuum and its various modules are yet to be revealed, but the company anticipates a launch as early as May or June 2025. This innovative device could redefine what we expect from robot vacuums in a smart home setup.

  5. AI Motion Pillow

Sleep is one of the most essential functions of your home, and at CES 2025, sleep-related technology took center stage. One standout device is the AI Motion Pillow, designed for anyone looking to tackle snoring in the bedroom. This innovative pillow combines high-quality memory foam with artificial intelligence to subtly adjust your head position and help prevent or stop snoring. What sets this solution apart is its non-invasive design. Instead of relying on wearable devices or intrusive setups, the AI Motion Pillow’s functionality is powered by a sleek white box called the AI Motion System. This system monitors sleep duration and snoring patterns, using the data to "learn" when snoring begins. Once detected, the pillow activates built-in airbags that gently shift your head’s position, effectively reducing or stopping snoring without disrupting your rest. With its thoughtful design and smart functionality, the AI Motion Pillow offers a promising, comfortable solution for anyone seeking better sleep and quieter nights.

  6. Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential

The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium has long been the gold standard among smart thermostats, earning the top spot on many best-of lists. However, its $250 price tag has been a sticking point for some buyers. That’s where the newly announced Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential, unveiled at CES 2025, steps in. Priced at just $129—nearly half the cost of the Premium model—it offers an affordable alternative with only minor compromises. The Essential swaps out the Premium’s nickel finish for a plastic build but retains one of Ecobee’s standout features: compatibility with remote sensors. This allows you to monitor the temperature and occupancy in multiple rooms, giving you precise control over the climate throughout your home.

With a significantly lower price point, the Essential gives Nest a serious challenge in the smart thermostat market. It is set to hit shelves at major retailers in March and comes with a 3-year warranty. Plus, it’s Energy Star certified, ensuring it’s as efficient as it is affordable.

  7. Ring Smart Smoke Alarm

Known for its dominance in video doorbells, Ring is expanding its smart home offerings with the introduction of its first smoke alarm. Announced at CES 2025 in collaboration with Kidde, this new device aims to enhance home safety by seamlessly integrating with the Ring ecosystem.

When smoke is detected, the alarm activates a loud siren and instantly sends a notification to your Ring app, keeping you informed no matter where you are. For added protection, customers can subscribe to a 24/7 Smoke & CO Monitoring service. This service alerts your emergency contacts and notifies local police and fire departments in the event of a fire, providing peace of mind even when you’re away from home.

The Ring Smart Smoke Alarm is priced at $54.97 and will be available starting in April, exclusively at The Home Depot. The monitoring service launches on April 2, with a subscription costing just $5 per month.

This new offering marks a significant step for Ring as it continues to diversify its smart home lineup with practical, safety-focused innovations.
